KapZoom
A desktop screen recorder that automatically focuses actions, generates captions and keeps the result editable on a full timeline — available for Windows and Mac with one-time pricing.
KapZoom

Current state
- Who it is for
- Creators and product teams making tutorials, product demos and technical content who want to spend less time on manual zooms and editing
- Problem
- Polished screen recordings demand extensive manual zooming, captioning and layout work, while professional alternatives are often platform-limited or subscription-only
- Relationship
- Owned
How it works
01
Record the action
Choose a window or the whole screen while KapZoom captures pointer movement, clicks, system audio and microphone input.
02
Get an automatic first cut
KapZoom creates cinematic zooms around relevant actions, generates captions locally and identifies sections that can be trimmed.
03
Refine and export
Adjust zooms, annotations, masking and backgrounds on a multitrack timeline, then export MP4, WebM or GIF.
Evidence
- The official site provides downloads for Windows 10/11 and macOS 13+, with a seven-day Pro trial that requires no credit card
- Basic is a NT$399 one-time purchase; Pro has an early-bird one-time price of NT$1,890 with a perpetual license and one year of updates
- The official site publicly demonstrates the auto-zoom, timeline, captioning and local-AI workflow
Current limitations
- KapZoom is currently in public beta; the Windows and Mac installers are not yet code-signed or notarized and may trigger an operating-system security warning.
- The free edition exports the first three videos; Basic retains a watermark and 720p limit, while watermark removal, 4K and AI connections require Pro.
- The Mac build currently supports Apple Silicon devices running macOS 13 Ventura or later; Windows supports Windows 10 and 11.
KapZoom is a local-first desktop screen recorder and video editor combining automatic zoom, captions, a multitrack timeline and conversational AI editing. The free edition covers the first three videos, while Basic and Pro use one-time purchases instead of subscriptions.
